I realised that having this extra post to carry on from yesterday’s one, evens out the fact that there was no new music post on Monday. Isn’t great when things organically just work out!
In the first part of my summary of the best looks from most of the shows at the Haute Couture Fall 2016 Fashion Week, I covered Ulyana Sergeenko, Atelier Versace, Schiaparelli, Dior, Giambattista Valli and Chanel. Today’s post will focus on the final seven shows which are again all equally impressive yet still very different from each other. The Valentino show made me hope that a costume designer will use the looks from this show in a future period drama and the Giles presentation demonstrated how modelling Couture in an interesting way can further elevate the drama and impact of it. The final show was Fendi which took place in Rome and was also celebrating the 90th anniversary of the fashion house. The most spectacular element of this show was the newly restored Trevi Fountain (partly funded by Fendi) which served as a stunning backdrop and made it look like the models were walking on water.
