the nominees for best dressed are…

There have been a lot of award shows recently, with a lot of great dresses, but the biggest one is the Oscars and so it usually has the best gowns too. With that in mind I couldn’t let it pass without talking about my favourite looks.

First up and possibly my favourite of the night, is Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein. The emerald green colour suited her complexion perfectly and the simple cut of the gown kept the all-over sequins youthful and cool. Also I think it was a fun and unique styling touch to have two different coloured earrings.

Next up is Margot Robbie in Tom Ford. In the simplest of terms, she looked like a total babe in this dress. A long sleeved, croc-effect gold gown is the right statement to make at the Oscars and it fit her perfectly. I like that she paired it with quite casual, undone hair as I think anything fussy would have been too much and would have aged this look.

Another favourite of the night was Priyanka Chopra in Zuhair Murad. She looked beautiful in a semi-sheer dress with delicate white floral beading. The intricate yet subtle embellishment and perfect fit of this gown paired with simple hair and make-up created a really elegant look.

Finally we have Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton. As you know I’m already a fan of her style and this dress didn’t change anything. It’s pretty and princessy (yes I have seen the Beauty and The Beast memes) but I think it works on her. Yellow is a tricky colour to pull off, but this shade suits her tanned skin and is very cheerful without being too twee.
